Kevin if you want to lower the car at all I wouldn't go any less than 4.75 bs, and would stick to 5" as it seem to work every time...
Remember the people at Boyd's are probably used to fitting them on stock height cars for a fitment base number and not trying to maximise the fitment of the wheel/tire/suspension/frame/ride height/disc brakes like we are trying to do here...
For what it's worth I have 17x8s w/ 5"bs 245/45/17 and 17x10 w/ 5"bs (narrowed rear end & 2.5" mini-tub) 315/35/17s on my 68 w/ 4 wheel discs and love the fitment.Tony
