      First Gen Monte Guy

      Hello All,
As the title states, I have a 1970 Monte Carlo. I've only had it a few months, but have alot in store for it already. The stroker small block is almost complete- I still have to finish porting and polishing. I have all of the parts for the 12 bolt posi conversion. I have the Eleanor wheels installed with spinners-17"X8" with Kuhmo 255/60 and 235/60. Also installed is a 4 inch cowl hood. That sounds pretty huge, but it actually looks very nice. I don't have any pictures yet, but I'll work on it. I also have a '79 Vette that I've had for several years now, but it's on the back burner right now-kid on the way. The Vette does have high dollar suspension and a frame you could eat off of. It's getting either a 396 small block or 420 small block. I have all the parts except the block. Anyway, the Monte will be a daily driver. Thanks in advance-I'm sure you guys will be a wealth of info.

Hey Mike, I'll be glad to be the first to welcome you to the site! Now just get us some pictures of both those rides of yours!! That Monte sounds pretty sick. Can't say I've seen one of those pro-toured yet... so let's see it! Again, welcome.

Welcome Monte brother! Love the first gen Montes. Not sure about the 4" cowl, sounds huge, but would have to see it.

Welcome to the site!! The first gen monte is one of my all time favorites. I love the styling and lines of that body. I can't wait to see the progress. The eleanor wheels seem like they will be a good fit for that car.

Wow!! Thanks for the warm welcome guys. My son was just born, so I haven't had time to post, but here is a pic...

BTW, the front will be lowered once I get the stroker installed. It has aluminum heads. The fiberglass hood raised the front quite a bit, so I don't want to do suspension until I get the new lighter motor installed.

I love the early 70's and the 86/87 monte. I will have one some day.
