      LSx questions!

I'm looking to put an LSx engine in my project 66 Nova. I was thinking LS2 crate. First question is if I go crate engine would it be worth it to change out the stock heads and install AFR 205's with a cam or will the stock heads and cam already give me the power the AFR's would? If it makes sense to do the LS2 head/cam swap would it be better to find a new LS2 shortblock(No Heads) and just add the AFR heads/cam on to that since I won't be needing the heads or cam that come with the crate(I'm won't need most of the other stuff that the crate motor comes with since I will be replacing that also!). Since trying to find an LS2 shortblock may be hard, would you suggest I go with an LS1 shortblock and work it from there with the same head/cam configuration?

I personally think you should go with a LS1 or LS6 block and then put a good set of head snad cam combo on there. you will make an easy 500 hp at the crank with a good setup.
i put down 435rwhp in my car, 6 speed 2001 camaro. with a 12 bolt.
      with a 224 224 581 581 112lsa cam and a set of 1.5 TEA heads.
with bigger cam and stage 3 heads i know i could have put down 450-475 pretty easy.
