Is this Stock?
I am working on a 68 Firebird and it has what look like door guards on the fenders door and QP (see picture). At first I had thought they were an aftermarket add on, however now that I look at them I see the rubber insert is colored the same as the body color. Is this a stock option?

I don't think so, I've never seen them come from the factory, my 68 had them but the previous owner said the body shop installed them,

Pontiac dealers did alot of rub strip / door edge guard installs. It looks slightly larger than the dealer stuff I've seen, but ya never know. Looks like someone got tired of door dings & had it put on.

Ok, then it seems it was not something you ordered from the factory, which is what I had thought. The color coded rub strip is what threw me off. Thanks
