      Beware - Need4Speed - rip off (resolved)

Just to let everyone know, last month I placed an online order for 2 cases of Torco race fuel additive from Need4Speed (402-731-2352)

I ordered a case of their leaded and a case of their unleaded additive. They shipped the leaded product but charged me for both products. Over the past several weeks I have left 3 messages on their recorder and they have not bothered to call me back, let me know what is going on - or ship me the product that they have charged me for.

I have been through this process before and that is the reason that I place ALL of my purchases on Visa. My credit union treats me very good and tomorrow they will be starting the charge dispute process.

I am letting everyone know because I found out about this company from a post on this site.

Need4Speed didn't respond to the two calls from my credit union either, so I have been credited a full refund!

Thanks for the heads up guys. In this day and age you would think that companies would be all about customer service with the internet and message boards. These places can ruin a companies rep faster then anything

I searched for it when this post first appeared and I can't find any reference to Need4Speed on the site.

      Good Morning All ....

I heard of this complaint for the first time this morning. Actually, from another website. I never knew there was any problem with this customer's shipment until today.

In that timeframe, we had just installed a new phone setup from Vonage. Apparently, we did not have something set right in order to be informed of voicemail, and did not even realize we had any.

I talked to Vonage today, they showed me what do to, and low and behold, I had 20 voicemails, 3 from 69camaro638 and one from his credit union.

I am truly sorry for the mixup. Unfortunately, we don't have someone to man the phone, being so small. All products are actually drop-shipped from Torco Racing Fuels directly, so we are really un-aware of problems unless someone tells us.

I will change the voicemail to let people know that the best way to get a hold of us is via email, as that can be checked multiple times per day. Unfortunately, I did not receive any other email from 69camaro639 besides his original order.

I have been running Need4Speed for the last 3 years, and sold to thousands of customers, never once has someone been "ripped off" nor at least received their refund.

I truly believe that a customer should recieve what they pay for, unfortunately, be it my negligence for not setting up my Vonage account right, I am at fault here.

I have left a message with my shipping agent at Torco, to look into this matter, and see why the only shipped one case, as I fax every single order to them. (this was one single order)

I tried calling you this morning, but did not get a hold of you.

SATISTRACTION - You are not talking about us, as we do not "build" cars, we sell race fuel additives, Amsoil and some aftermarket performance parts for the turbo import community. We do not have a shop, nor a mechanic on staff. This is a one man show, and unfortunately, I have a 60 hr a week career as well ....

69camaro639, I will try to call you again today, once I hear back from Torco.

I spoke to the owner of need4speed today and he said that he is going to make things right with my order. I really hope that happens because all I really wanted was to order these products and try them out.

Here was the info I found that was posted under engine misc by white79bu on 1/27/05 that led me to this company.

"I talked to someone at Torco a couple of months ago about the consentrate going bad when setting. He told not to worry about it because it would't break down. But he said if it made me feel better I could put fuel stabilizer in and it wouldn't hurt it. Also if you want to buy a case of the cans try getting it at www.need4speedpower.com it seems to be cheaper than going through Torco. It work great for me I just keep the case in the trunk of the car. I mix it with 1 can to a tank of fuel but I am thinking about mixing it with 1/2 can to a tank. The leaded version is some strong stuff. Andy"

      ISSUE RESOLVED

As promised by Brad, the owner of need4speed, today I received my missing case of product. If these products perform to my liking, I WILL re-order from www.need4speedpower.com again. Brad even went so far as to state to me that he was going to refund me half the cost of one of the cases for all the trouble, that is waaay beyond fair and to me implies superior integrity.

Good to hear everything resolved, if possible it would be nice to edit the title of the thread to show the issue has been settled.

Great! It's good that it has been resolved to everyone's satisfaction and good to know that it was apparently a mix-up rather than intentional fraud.
      Thanks for posting up need4speed!

Now thats what I call top notch customer service!! I am glad you are all set. I also respect the fact that the owner did not try to blame Vonage for the problem by stating that ultimately the responsibility fell on him!! That is a very respectable answer and one that will gain him many more customers in the future with that kind of business savy. Anyways, good luck to need4speed and everyone else involved with this!!
