trapin, we must enjoy the same music. Tool has, and always will be, my favorite band. I call them a "thinking man's rock band." I picked the CD up today. Their CD covers are always the coolest. Have you heard the band "10 Years" ? They are similar to Tool, but hold their own.

I'm listening to it right now...Becky went and bought if for me after work today! No wonder I want to marry her, right?

Definetely different, but this is one of very few bands that have gotten better as they have evolved over the years. Being a musician myself (drummer), I am amazed by their talent. No matter how they choose to express that talent, whether it be pure hate and loathing, or periods of soul-bearing beauty, they are speaking to you through their instruments. And they do it effortlessly...on their part as well as yours.

I remember, back in 1992 (right?), listening to my first Tool song. It was an experience, and remains an experience to this day.

No matter what kind of music you currently enjoy, do yourself a favor and buy a Tool album. Any Tool album. And, in the words of Reverend Maynerd himself (paraphrasing), "We want you to close your eyes and find a comfortable place. A place that's not only comfortable, but vulnerable, and we'll meet you on the other side."

I've heard their new release on the radio here. Good Stuff.
Robert's 1969 Camaro - 2002 LS1/T56, 10pt cage, Global West Stage III front suspension, HTH truck arm rear suspension, Sprint Cup 9" full-floating rear end, Fikse Mach V 17" up front 18" in the back and still working on it...

sounded like the same old tool to me. the song theyre playing on the radio all the time now sounds just like that "i know the pieces fit" riff. i dunno, thats one band that i find myself searching for another station when they come on. but oddly enough, i really like a perfect circle. i dunno, i guess the Metallica has brainwashed me.

Boyd...that's the perfect description for them. A "thinking mans rock band". This is an album you really have to sit with to appreciate. Not for the 18 and 20 year olds, definitely.

I tried doing just that on Itunes last night. Come to find out there is absolutely NO Tool on Itunes. Not a single song. When I bought the album at Target I noticed they are on the Sony/BMG label...which explains why. Sony/BMG will not allow any of their music on Itunes because Sony is in the MP3 player business and Ipod is a competitor. Those Bastadges. But then I'm glad I had to buy the album because the jacket is really kick ass. I love those goggles and the bizarre pictures that you get to look at. Adam Jones has one twisted (yet creative) mind.

New tool CD kicks major ass, as they usually do.
Best band around, by far. More talent than most.
New CD artwork is crazy, even includes "special" lenses to view.

"If you don't like them you must be dumb". Nice.

They are a just another "sell albums by saying things that might piss off the 17 y/o's parents" type of band. Just like Kiss 30 years ago.

Yuck! I hate when people put words in my mouth. Disgusting. Next time try a little hot sauce or maybe some wasabi to kill the taste. That was gross.
