Detroit Speed 3 Inch Dropped Springs
i was just looking at my traction bars realizing how ugly they were when a thought popped back into my head. Someone asked me why i had the bars with my dropped springs. That person was under the impression you didnt need traction bars with those springs. Is this true? If i take my traction bars off will the new springs prevent wheel hop in any way?

Springs
I talked to Stacy @ Detroit Speed a couple months back about the springs and was told they were designed to minimize and help eliminate wheel hop. She also stated that with the right conditions, combination of traction and different types of pavement surfaces that wheel hop could still happen, but for most of my use they are working out fine.
04-29-2006 #3if dse are similar to hotchkis then i didnt need them....i had traction bars with my stock springs b/c i needed them bad...then when i went with hotchkis i figured i try without them b/c they look bad....and it was better than with them on...no wheel hop at all..

04-30-2006 #5when they were on i still had a little bit of vibration...i think it was b/c i had the el cheapo ones you get at autozone for 50 and they werent set up for my car so they didnt work as well as they should...and when i swapped to the hotchkis all wheel hop at launch went away

Detroit speed has a different design rather than your traditional factory style. Along with the drop thay have an engineered the spring to provide support toward the front spring eye that should limit the need for a traction device.

05-01-2006 #8I would think the bolt ins are an improvement but not quite as effective as the weld ins.
