      cam help

Rebuilding my engine and wondering what cam to get its going to be a 383 with ported 2.02 heads holley 750 vac secondaries, 70 z-28 intake dual plane factory hi-rise, b&m 2200-2400 stall (was 2300 with the 355) th350 3.55 gears with 26" tire. don't want to rev past 6500. Crane tech said to get cam p/n 110591 - 228/234 duration 480/494 lift 106 lop seperation. 2800-6500 power range. i want a hyd. cam. I only use car on weekends or maybe strip couple times. Mostly just want a fast street car. Old cam in the 355 was a comp 230/236 duration 487/490 lift 110 lobe seperation. I liked it, made good power and liked the loopy idle. Thanks in advanced.

the cam you have 230/236 would be good in a 383,a little tamer in a 383 than a 355.i would think about a 236/242 the next cam up from a 230/236.i have quite afew 383 lt1's with it and they run real well.you are talking hyd roller right.

Hyd. flat tappet. I'm staying away from comp because the rear cam lobe failed and 1 in the front and middle looked a little worn. Only had like 10,000 miles. My engine builder seen it before on a comp cam to.

I have used the Crower 00211 with great luck in combos similar to yours. The 108LS will really make it rattle at idle

You can buy direct from Crower at www.crower.com
You could always call my former shop The Speed Merchant; Rich will take care of you

Would that crower cam produce enough vacuum for power brakes. I heard that those lunati voodoo cams are good they have one with 110 Ls 233/241 dur.at 50 and 504/525 lift. Just don't want to regret my cam choice.

I would expect the Crower to do pretty well with PB. At worst you would need a small vaccum canister... but that is unlikley
