Hubcap question, yes, I said Hubcap......

      Hello,

I am in the hunt for a set of mercury led-sled style hubcaps for my 55 bel-air. I am sure you know the one's I am talking about, basically mid 50's caddy caps, that people modify. I lowered my car, and for the time being I dont have the $$$ for a set of big wheels. I figure a set of these caps will give my car that "cruiser" look, untill I can start converting it to a Pro-Tourer..

I bought a set of 1956 caps from Ebay, which is what the Merc guys use to make these custom caps, and they dont fit my stock steel wheels for a damn. The inside dish is way too deep. They have a crazy dish that makes them stick out about two inches from the wheel. I take it I have to now get a new wheel to make these caps work ?

I was wondering if someone/shop made these caps for the general population steel wheel ? Where as I can go and buy a set, complete, and ready to roll ?

Anyone point me in the right direction ???
Pics below of how the 55 sits now, and of three mercs with the caps I want...

One option, though maybe not exactly what you are talking about:

Mooneyes has some nice caps, but not what I am looking for. I actually have a set of 1956 Caddy hubcaps, just not sure how to make them work with what I have...
