      Pinks!

Anyone catch the latest episode of Pinks ? IT was a mid 90's mustang VS a hatchback Civic.. My fav part was when the civic was crying for 15 lengths and then snapped the half shafts because that far down the track there was too much grip.. The mustang won 3 straight races.. I can understand the imports wanting to race the domestics but come on when you are crying for 15-20 lengths it is just sorry.. If I were an import guy I would be embarrassed to be represented like that..

      I dont agree...

During the beginning of the show they said they were supposed to bring 13 second cars.

If you go to a expecting to be evenly matched in a 13second car (who knows since the show never gives ETs) and your opponent brings a car much faster, then you would "cry" for more lengths too. It doesnt matter if its import or domestic.

PS I thought the import guy said he had only run a best time of 13.8 or was it 14.8?

Dunno, was playing CS not paying much attention.

The Honda ran a best of what? Bulls**t.... That thing was a shell with no interior, slicks that stuck out way past the fenders, lexan windows..etc. It would run 14 flat with a Briggs + Stratton.

That was like the episode when Bully dog showed up and the other guy in the S-10 was crying about being mismatched. He lost the 4th race cause he ran out of NOS. Bully Dog ran their ram w/o water in the radiator! What some won't do.

The only reason to put a Chevy in a Ford is monetary. He is not a true Ford person. Its sacriligous if you ask me! If you cant afford to run Ford, go back to your mobile home and get your Chevy! Ford is more expensive for a reason. You get what you pay for!

I don't see the point in putting a SBC in a Ford, as 302s and 351s can make similar power. Some people do it because it's what they're used to, or because Chevy parts are everywhere.

Now LS1 in a Ford, that's a different ballgame. No Ford engine can make that kind of power in a light, compact modern package, while being simple, traditional, and easy to modify and work on. I forsee lots of LSX powered Fords in the future.

I would do it just to piss off the Ferd guys! Espically the Mustang guys. They really get pissy about that stuff. I would prolly take it to a Fun Ford weekend if it would run like stink, and then not pop the hood until I put the spank on some dudes. :3gears: But I would need a bodygaurd also!

show isn't about racing..it's about negotiating..ought to be hosted by Dale Carnegie..don't want to use lights because it takes the human factor out of it? no joke..I thought that was the point of lights in the first place..where you have a human, you've got opportunity for mistakes and inconsistancy..

I told Goldberg he needs to look at that guy to help fine tune his scowl...the look on his face when he drops his arms is a real joke..he does do a prertty good job of managing those contestants though. He saw me at Sema a couple years ago before the show premiered, and was wanting some guys from around here..We never really followed up..he needs more serious racers instead of these amateurs..not saying a few of the guys weren't good racers..

I had a chance to see them at Orlando but I didn't go, I think my 7 yr old was sick, the scowl is funny, but just like all reality TV the "drama" factor, I don't watch that much, can never remember to turn on the TV

They are on their way! One of the mags (Hot Rod?) recently did a story on the show. One car (a Camaro) was a little rough around the edges. His competition was a nice Nova backed by "Investors". They also had sponsors names plastered on the car. Sounds like pros to me.

The host is a joke. Hes actually quite annoying. The look he gives when hes waiting for the go ahead from the drivers is priceless! I wonder if he knows how stupid he looks. Also, pay attention in the beginning when he gets out of the H6 the crowd typically boos him! As for the show itself, it is a bit dramatic. I do like the ham-n-egger cars though or cars thrown together in a few days or weeks in prep. Bringing real race cars kind of gets away from the street racing its "supposed" to be like. What I was REALLY dieing to see was the race where the guy showed up with an old school Galaxy with no motor. That would have been a good episode. Two old schoolers going at it with old school drag cars. I am considering building a 60's altered wheelbase car for the street. It will happen, the question is when.
