Anyone else have a red interior?

I'm not a big fan of red interiors, but my car was too nice to pass up for the price. The interior is the original Carmine Red, and is in very good shape for it's age, so I don't want to hassle with changing it to another color. With that said, the red interior limits what color I can paint the car. Could some of you with red interiors post pics of your cars to give me an idea of what the red interior will look like with various exterior colors? I'm leaning torwards either GM Pewter or straight Black. The wheels will be black centers with polished rims.

I would not go Pewter. I would go silver though. Black is a good choice, and I have seen a Boyd Smoothster that was dark blue with a red interior.

I agree. Although I do not have any pictures I would think silver or gray would look good. Or you could go black. That is a tried and true combo.

Thats easy - outside color could be red, black, silver, or even white.

darker silver or if youre committed to prep a black paint job that would be a winner. i had a charcoal 78 T/A dark red int with seats recovered in matching leather, very sharp car.

Check my pics on my link in my sig.. My car is Black/Red. Disregard the ripped rigged seats in the pics. They've since been replaced with deluxe cloth seats in factory red. I have black carpet and headliner for good contrast.

Thanks for the input guys. I pretty much had the black, silver, white, grey thing down, but was hoping someone would post a pic that convinced me exactly which color to run with. Right now I'm leaning towards Black. The problem with black though is I really wanted to go with a satin black hood to help shorten up that super long front-end on the late 2nd gens. I'm afraid the hood would just end up looking like I ran out of clear. Silver is my 2nd choice, but seems to be overdone right now. The original color is silver, so if I did choose it I guess I could say "it's original".

Look around some ferrari websites (ferrarichat.com) those guys have mastered the red interior.

That being said i'm not a huge fan of all reds, but it can definitely look good. On a black or silver car it looks fantastic.

Prepare to spend another $10,000 grand to get it to look right. Black is a bitch! Labor, labor, labor. I speak from experience.

P.S. Black does look sharp when done right!
      Looks terrible when done cheaply.
