      2nd gen. tach filter

      Later model 2nd gen. camaros with factory HEI ran a small filter between the tach and distributor.Does anyone know it's funtion, and is it neccessary to prevent damage to the tach when converting to HEI on a '70-'73 model with factory gauges?
