      New Caltracs issue

The round bar that connects the front and rear heim joints (torque link?) is touching the rivet on the bottom of the leaf springs that holds the multi leafs together, should I be concerned?

Should I gring some off the rivet head? If that doesnt give me enough clearance, would it be alright to remove the rivet and install a grade 8 carriage bolt, nut, and lock washer?

Nancejd-I will post a pic tomorrow

gen3bu-Yes I can but I thought people on here suggested they had better traction by using the upper hole on the front mount (the rear is not adjustable)

I bet your rear suspension is unloaded and hanging. I havethe same situation on my 69 Camaro with hotcchkis springs. Try tightening everything up and jack the car up from the rearend or put on the ground. It should not touch the rivet.

It is on the ground and is still touching. I am going out now to do some grinding.

Well they are not touching now,but they are close 1/8" is that enough?

When I get on the gas will the front of the spring go up or down?
