      Wizard Cooling Aluminum Radiator

So after doing some research on the Be Cool radiator I have, and discovering that it will only support a MAX of 400HP, I have come to the conclusion that I have to get a new radiator. No need risking a $4000 motor with a $400 radiator.

So I did some shopping... contacted some companies. I talked to all the big boys, Ron Davis, Be Cool, PRC, C&R, etc... and none of them would really deal with me. Ron Davis tried, but they just weren't interested in giving helping me out like I was looking for.

So I remembered my fried, who is having C.A.R.S. build him his repop Camaro, uses radiators build by Wizard Cooling. And they said that Wizard is the company who is suppling all the radiators for the HotRod1 car, <sarcasm> that we all seem to love </sarcasm>. I figure if it was good enough for HRM's cars, then I would give them a call.

Boy... was I glad I gave them a call. They were totally willing to help me out. Got a nice radiator with shroud, and they sent me some pics of a similar one they will send (less the 4 fans). I was stoked. Looks like a nice part too. Claim it will support 800HP with a dual electric fan setup.

Take a look at my site for some pics.

Never new about them. I will check them out next time <bookmarked>. But I can assure you, I paid far less than $850 for everything you just described.

Clinthart - I will agree with you on Wizard Cooling. You always learn of more people after you make a decision. I made the decision to go with Wizard and then learned of several other folks. I was a little worried about going with a company I knew very little about. Scott Attig (the company president I believe) made me feel like I was his only customer. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns and gave me reason to go with them. I was not disappointed. I received my radiator from them a couple of weeks ago for the '58 Impala I am building. What a terrific product. It was everything I expected and more. Quality product and on time. I feel confident that there are other companies that provide an equal product but these guys have my business for the foreseeable future.

I could not agree with you more! Scott was great to talk to. Wizard is still one of the little guys, even though they have been around for 15 years. I like working with the little guys because they can't afford to piss off many people.

There is a link to Wizard at the bottom of the this page

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

What did you buy? I went to their site and the cheapest radiator they listed for a 69 Camaro w/ SBC and AC was $475 and they didn't list any specifications.

They are a pretty small company, and their site is really kind of simplistic. If you are interested in a radiator, call Scott. His extension is x711. He is a really nice guy, and should answer all your questions. Just tell him that Clint sent you.

      ;)

What is your application? BBC? How much HP are you running?

I ask because I am selling my current setup. If you have a motor running less than 400HP in a First Gen Camaro, then I got just the rad for you.

It has been brought to my attention that I was "shill"ing you with my posts. I apologized if anyone thought I was selling them something. I guess it is only appropriate for companies magazines and companies to drop product names. I shall leave my comments to my own site.
