      help 2nd gen

Well i'm looking for some advice on my 2nd gen...i'm trying to get the stance right..so far i bought the g-machine kit from pst...with the 2" lower ft springs and 1 1/2" leaf in the rear...and well it's more like an 1"...was thinking of coil springs ft and 2" lower blocks for the rear...then i seen the air ride system...but 4500 is a little steep for my military pay check...i also need to change the front disk so what about a 2" drop spind...has anybody gone through this...i have 18x8 ft and getting 18x10 rear so i can go with the nitto 305/45...if anybody can steer me in the right direction...thanks

Some brake companies already sell their kits for 2nd gens with 2" drops. Baer only sells them with the spindles for about 2k for a complete set, front and back, if you look around. I think you can get just the fronts with the spindles for about 1400 bucks.

Precision Brakes Company is developing a kit now and it should be out soon.

One comment on the rear tire and lower ride height: make sure you mock this stuff up before buying the wheels and tires. The second gen cars have little in the way of wheel well clearance once you go into suspension bump, the way the qtrs and outer wheel wells are made gives very little room, and there isn't much at all you can do about it. You can mini-tub the car to fit more tire in the back, or leave at a relatively high ride height. I mini-tubbed my car, with hopes of fitting a 335 tire under it, but I think the best I'll be able to do is a 315, and that is WITH the minitubs. 335's were very, very tight.

Great cars though, have a blast with it.

      Wow. Rick!

I didnt know you were a member here. We have not talked before, but your car is my favorite car that has ever appeared in PHR. I still look at it all the time. It illustrates the style and quality that I am striving for. Very NICE and good job!
