      Did some porting..

Had some old junker E7's (stock 5.0 heads) laying around and some new carbide bits just sitting there. Started practice porting on them (gotta learn on something. I think they sound flow VERY well

Not busting on ya, but- Next time try 'mapping' out your plan vice grinding away. Most guys wind up bellmouthing thw outer portion while leaving a choke point just before & in the bowls. A 2" inlet won't do ya any good at street RPMs if it mouths down to a 1.25" intake bowl with no thought process...

PS- I do understnad what you were doing by doing what ya did. I did Briggs & Stratton blocks & heads when I was a kid. I think I made a few 3.5hp motors into 2.5hp!

Never cut into water, but I did make the same mistake in hogging out the intake ports first. Big intake ports kill velocity, and kill power 99.99% of the time.
The easy gains are found in the bowl. Blend the port into the valve seat, big gains there.
There are some excellent resources on the web, just google "bowl blending" and "pocket porting" and you will get some really good ideas on where to start.
