      Hello and here's my project

Just wanted to say hello since I'm new to the site. I saw a reference to this board from transamcountry.com. I've been hanging out there and on ls1tech.com.

And I've been on ls1tech.com because my project is a conversion putting an LS1+T56 into a recently-restored 78 T/A SE.

I'll save you the sob story on the history of this vehicle, because my guess is there's a bit of membership overlap with tacc, ls1tech and here. But if you want to hear it, I'll tell it.

And yes - I know it's not a "true bandit" since it's not one of the select few built by transamspecialties, but so many people know exactly what you mean when you say Bandit, that I don't care - that's what I'm calling it!

Here she is (and yes - I'm going to change out the wheels. I've been beaten into submission on that one! ).

      And the new drivetrain:

i would have put an even bigger motor in there, or a stroker, since its such a heavy car...badass swap though, i wish i could afford an ls1 for my project, but my lt1 did the trick, plus its a 2400lb car

Well, it's actually lighter than the 4th gens, at least according to specs. Not to say it's light, especially compared to 2400lb ... I've talked to guys that have taken their 2nd gens + LS1 with some mods into the 11's. Since this really isn't meant to be a race car - mostly just a fun car - that's plenty for me.

That car is so clean, good luck with the swap. I have been looking at 2nd gen f-bodies lately, definitely keep us posted.
