      10 bolt

in an 88 monte SS...is the stock 10 bolt worht building up?? I have the g80 code so it has the stock posi unit...but that is going bye-bye for a detroit true trac ( i think they make one for this size rear). But...should I even bother with new axles??

      Im running a 358 small block with about 400hp...and i will have 315/35/17 tires out back...with a built 200r4

If it is an 8.5" 10 bolt I would use it. I have abused the 8.5 in my 95 Impala and it never complains. Car weighs over 4000 lbs. I am putting a 8.5 in my 68 camaro, and plan on using twin turbos. I'm not worried. They are cheap and plentiful. Axle housing out here cost me $25 at the pull n save.

How to you abuse it? Is your Impala supercharged? Do you launch the car at a high rpm? Just curious...
