Tips on smoothing a fire wall

I have a 69 Camaro with factory a/c. I am installing a under dash unit, and want to clean up the fire wall. Has anyone used 21st Century smoothing incert. Is that the best approach? Thanks Cory

That route has to be less expensive than patching the whole thing like I did. It hit heavy into my pocket book.
