      serpetine system

      hi,
      last couple times that i have driven the camaro it has trown the belt for the water pump and alternator. what do you guys think of the 3rd gen system? i was thinking of this vehicle because i can then also upgrade the steering box for the beter ratio.
      what do you guys think?
      suggestions?

      Vince, I (and I think a few others) from this site are running the 3rd-gen brackets and accessories. If you shop around, you can find it reasonably priced, and it works great. I've spun mine (accidentally) to 6K with no issues. You can see some pics of the setup on my site - link is in my sig.

      TPI your car looks great.
      i have some questions that i hope you can answer, since i wont be using ac, or smog stuff, will this still work for my application. and also will the system bolt up to my vortec heads?

      Thanks for the compliment on my car! Since I took those pics, I've removed the AIR stuff and re-routed the belt. I found a diagram on www.thirdgen.org that had a few pics of how to re-route a serpentine belt setup to remove certain parts. Also, GM makes an AC delete pulley and an AIR delete pulley, so you could do that as well. They will bolt right up to Vortecs. Hope that helps ya!

      thanks for the link TPI, is it possible to mount the alt on the opposite side of the power steering pump? also using these re-routing tips would i still need those delete pulleys?

      Which is best????????

      What is the best serpentine system for the buck you can get?? I am looking at the ones from billet specialties and the Front Runner. Anyone with experince with these or recommendations???
