      tire wheel combo

What is the widest tire wheel combo that will fit a 1972 chevelle ss w/ a 12 bolt without mini tubbing? 315/35/17 w/ a 17x10 or 11" wheel for the rear is what I would like What about the front should I go with 17x7 or 8"? Do not want any rubbing issues on hard turns from the front. Thanks for any and all help.

A few people have gotten a 315 to fit on the back, just make sure you nail the backspacing. It's best to measure your own car since each car is different. Also, a 17x11 is optimal for a 315, 17x10 is a bit too narrow. You're going to want atleast an 8" wheel up front to balance the 315s out a bit, or the car is really going to push in turns.

Do a little reading here. It should answer your A-body wheel & tire questions. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33229
