      Keeping interior cooler... how?

I am looking to redo the interior in my 68 Camaro. I currently have tried this before and had little success. 1st attempt was when I was doing a resto on the car about 10 years ago, worked ok when the car was a 6 cyl.... That's it.

THen I went to Home Depot, and bought their Reflectix stuff: http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...gml.0&MID=9876

put that in the car, and then then the factory carpet over that and it got hotter!!! Did I forget something? Or did I use the wrong stuff?

Now I am repainting the dash and will we replacing the factory carpet so I thought might as well try it again... 3rd times a charm right...

I know Dynamat has a type of sound deadening/heat shield product as well as Cool-tec, and I think there even a couple others too, but anybody have any recommendations for me? THX
