De-arching leaf springs
I would like to lower the rear of my car 2". It has almost new leafs from ESPO that are 1" over stock.....that was before I found out about PT. Can the spring shop de-arch just 2" or is it a guessing game for them? It would be nice to just remove and reinstall the leaf springs one time. Thanks

01-31-2006 #2It is pretty much a guessing game. They can lower the leafs exactly the distance you want but the results when you put the leafs back on your car will be more than 2".
If you tried an inch and a half I bet you would be happy with the results. Probably lower the car close to 2". Also keep in mind the leafs will settle a little bit after they are de-arched. Might take 50-100 miles but the will settle. If they de-arch it an inch and a half and your still not happy you could put a little 1/2" block to dial in difference. Most shops are generous enough to de-arch and re-arch until you are happy with the results. It took me 2 tries before I dialed in my stance. Only cost $60.00 total to de-arch my leafs.
