Difference between multi & mono leaf shocks

      Hey guys,

I'm going to purchase a 9" rear very soon for my 69 camaro along with a pair of Hotchkis Multi leafs. I can't afford the QA1 adjustables right now along with everything else, so my question is, can I keep the air shocks I have installed right now? I can't figure out what the difference is between a multi leaf shock and a mono leaf shock. I'm hoping to not have to replace the shocks right now, but I want to get the install done, so I need a little info. Thanks ahead of time.

      Mono is longer.

They are the same. The mono leaf pad has a longer piece sticking out to compensate for the shorter spring height. Dave Pozzi's site has this info on it.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

Hmm, not from what I've seen.

      KYB's were different sized.

Thanks for the info, I believe after reading the pozziracing.com article, that all I'll have to do is find a stud for the bottom of my shocks so that they'll fit into the new multi-leaf brackets. Multi leafs use stud with bolt and mono leafs just use through bolt.
