      T-56 install question

Which method is best? I see many using ATS kit for install and I've been to DSE and seen their way which is a full weld in cross member
and raised tunnel. I thought this was for trans clearance and pinion
angle. Are these methods comparable in quality and fitment or is the ATS a compromise to not Have to fabricate.

Why would you need to weld in a crossmember? Yes, the DSE is cool, but it also expensive with alot of labor to do. Using it will provide more tortional resistance to your chassis.

The ATS is not really a compromise. It does it the same way the factory does. If you use stock height subframe mounts then you do not need to raise your tunnel. The pinion angle will be fine as well when using the ATS kit.

The DSE kit is a upper crossmember. Totally different then the tranny crossmember.

I used the ATS crossmember on my nova. Nova's have the same sub frame as camaro's. I love the kit. Very well made, very strong and rigid yet easy to install. It dont know why anyone would be scared of using the hydralic clutch. Its was pretty easy to install. My car uses a 2 piece rear seal block so I had to get a special flywheel from McCloud, but other than that it went in easy.
