New here, 78 XR7
Hi all. Just found this place
Car is a 78 Mercury Cougar XR7. Currently, running on 17" Cragars, with a 3 turn Mustang steering box (vs 4 stock), Bilstein shocks.
I've got a lot more in the works, and more parts in boxes waiting to go on.. Should be a good time.
HI!

01-27-2006 #2Welcome! Always glad to have another Ford guy in the mix. BTW, nice looking Cougar too. You've got me a bit inspired... I've been eyeing a local '77 XR7 with a 351W and 109K original miles... Nice body, no rust, no dents... mint green though... only $850. Hmmm....
Anyway, welcome again.

I paid $1500 for this off ebay, with 78K miles. 1 owner car. Factory buckets with a console. Plans are
521 stroked 460
C6
3.5
front mustang 13" brakes
rear explorer 11" brakes
Poly bushings all over
Bilstein shocks.
Custom springs to drop this car a bit
B&M hammer shifter
Autometer gauges
As for paint, I think I want to mimic an Eliminator.
This car HAD 2.47:1 gears.. it couldn't break the tires free... on a wet driveway in a turn.
