Adhesive / sealant for windshield trim?

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but here goes:

Any of you ever fill the gap between your glass and windshield trim with Poly Urethane sealant?

My car ended up being way way faster than my windshield trim was designed for. I can hear it rattling at speed, and sometimes it starts to detach. I figure if I can keep the wind from getting under it, that might help.



and I really don't want to rivet plates to my roof to hold the trim on like the old trans-am cars.

any advice is much appreciated.
