      Kenwood Sound System

      Hello,

I have a Kenwood model DMX9606S multimedia receiver. Along with that I have an amp, four speakers and a sub. The problem I have is with the receiver. I have the system mounted in my 68 Chevelle. After I start the car the receiver starts right up, no issues whatsoever. If I start and stop the car say 4 or 5 times over a 3 hr period I get this message saying I have to stop, pullover and turn the car off and on. That never works. The system will work again the next day and the same thing happens over and over. The fact the receiver works a number of times and this problem occurs tells me the problem is with the receiver internally, or is it?? Anyone have any ideas. I hate to think I spent $900 and only used it 30 times over the last 5 years. I bought the receiver 5 years ago. The dealer said it was out of warranty and were reluctant to help. Dicks!!

any help would be greatly appreciated
      Perry

I couldn't find that model number you listed but found one under DMX906s. They seem to have a rebooting problem so if that's your model, it may be a factory defect. Sucks to spend that much and have problems with it. Reminds me of my Apple phone. $1000 and it's done the second it's paid off.

Maybe the park wire is not connected?? Sometimes radios have a safety feature that prevents certain functions from being used if the car is not in park so make sure the park wire is connected to your park switch or tied off high or low depending on what it requires. If it's left floating I could see it behaving the way you describe, but I have no experience with this radio model.

Probably a light green wire that needs to be plugged into parking switch like blitzer454 said (might be able to just get away with 12v+).
