      Hood Hinges

Need some advice. On the 63' Impala wagon were doing were stuck at the hood. We have to make some new inner fender wells cause the car sits super low on the airbags. The factory hood hinges mount to the top of the original fender wells. Any companies make specialty hinges that may help me out????

you'll probably have to make some new ones...you could also try some street rod companys they way have a hinge that would work you wuld just have to fab mounting positions.

      jy,

I had exactly the same problem. I used some BMW parts to make my hood open in reverse. Plus it gives the hood 4 attachment points so it won't need hood pins.

      Here's a link to a pic.

We made a few cardboard templates......once we had one that cleared the cowl we made them out of 1/2in plate and then just made mounting provisions! I wish I had better pics of them but the car is already sold
