      Transmission / Torque Converter Noise

Anytime my car goes into gear I hear a chattering noise. It doesn't make the noise at idle, and it increases with rpm, then goes away around 2500. I've been told it sounds like a loose torque converter so I got underneath and checked the torque converter bolts. They were all tight. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Could be a cracked flex-plate making noise. Cracks around the bolts to the crankshaft

Any evidence of rubbing when you had the dust cover off?

      Converter

Mine did that, was a Turbo 400 and turned out to be a broken stall converter. I waited too long to drop the trans and it wound up going through a lock up on the way home.
