SEMA has been slowly 'dying' for about 15 years.

Covid was terrible for it, and with the current changes on everything, I can slowly see it being 'opened for public' soon as a way to gain revenue back.

It doesnt have the awesomeness of nealry 25 years ago.

I havent seen a good SEMA after party in many years, companies just dont spend what they used to for adverstising.

I might roll up as well for a day or two to see some friends, but, it's not on my calendar...

Don’t y'all think the original intent of SEMA is lost? As well as the optima “street car” event?

Let’s get real here….its not open to the public and these days, what that really means is just finding a loop hole to pay to get in. Most people that attend is just to see it. Also many of the products are made overseas…the new ideas are getting fewer and fewer. It seems more like a high dollar car show now.

I think it should be open to the public…that’s where the money really is. I do think it needs to be a paid event though. You don’t want stragglers off the street just wondering in.

I’ve been kind of turn off to OUSCI and really the PT scene. The endless numbers of 67-73 Camaros that all look alike is boring and turns off my motivation to work on my car. I miss the days where there was like two iconic second gens…Thats the one reason, I disliked the mustangs…it’s a watered down platform. It’s just not unique anymore….theres less and less cool stuff to discover. Add in the fact, all the parts are stupid, STUPID prices!!! I can’t believe the stuff that bought for $500 is now $1200 or more! A CF spoiler is $1000! Who can afford this stuff??

You shouldn’t have to know someone or have deep pockets to drive in the optima event….it should be more like LS Fest.

Are you driver enough? Maybe....come on blue!
