      Epoxy Primer as Topcoat

I have several coats of PPG Omni MP172 primer on my latest project, a 1931 Chevy rat rod. I like the color and finish of the epoxy as is. Do I have to top coat it or can I just leave the bare epoxy finish? If so will it handle the weather? I'd rather not base coat and clear coat it if I don't have to. The matte black is pretty much what I'm looking to achieve.
      Thanks

It's going to fade out over time and will water spot very easy, best bet is to clear with a low gloss clear for easier care.

Zero UV protection in that epoxy. It’s not going to stand up. SPI black epoxy has a lot of UV protection but it will eventually fade.

Also it will stain at the gas filler if you spill some. I would scuff it and the seal it with the correct sealer. Then use a single stage flat or low gloss top coat.
