      Can anyone identify this engine?

Bought at an estate auction for $20. Still have to go pick it up. Name: Screenshot_20230619-193503_1.jpg

Things that might be important to consider:
      -rear mounted distributor
      -recessed timing chain
-oil filter on high rear passenger side
-flat across bottom of timing cover

      Yeah, it's a Caddy 4100.

It was mounted in a transverse location, that's why the oil filter is at the rear.

I worked at the dealer back in the day.

Wow thanks! From the wiki it looks like they were pretty terrible.

I can't even guess how many I worked on. You name it...it went bad.

Overheating and main bearing knocks were normal routine.
