      Upgrade stock, or Rack?

Right now my car has stock power steering. I was thinking of upgradeing the box, and get ATS spindles, which help with the bumpstreet, right?

OR, switch to a bolt on manual rack and pinion steering, (still with the ats spindles).

      What would you do?

Just to let you know what I have been told....
I spoke with Stacy Tucker of DSE at goodguys in Columbus this summer. She said that if you stay with the factory subframe
then you should keep your stock steering system, just upgrade to a
better steering gear, one with rack and pinion valve technology and
a quicker ratio. If you go with an aftermarket front subframe, it should be designed around a rack and pinion system. Her and her husband Kyle are ex-suspension engineers,so I'll take her word on it!

The ATS box is the bomboozillia. Rack sucks, considering that the new boxes available have a better feel and dont require any modifications to install.

i kept the box on mine. upgraded to a napa rebuilt 91 z28 box, all moog tie rods and edelbrock adjusters. rack are cool no doubt. but there are a bunch of really well built (and high dollar) cars out there keeping the box. and most of em are built by guys that know a lot more about steering geometry than me, so call me a follower. ya know path of least resistance and what not....
