I spoke to someone about using a plastic block, and was told that they aren't always 100 percent accurate on where engine mounts and whatnot are. I'd suggest getting a salvage engine block for mocking up before making anything permanent. Any boneyard or rebuild shop should have one that can't be built for cheap.

Thanks for the heads up Vimes, you're the second person that's raised that there may be issues re the accuracy on the PAYR block.

I think its good enough to ball park the block in the bay and still have room to breath around it.

Had a few pretty significant updates recently and I'll move this over to the project page now that things are getting serious.

Picked up a hell of deal on a LS1 and got it home last week.

Made up a parts list following a few of the other Mustang / Cougar swaps on here and other corners of the interwebs.

Most significantly a set of hooker swap manifolds.

      66 Mustang

Hey Bro, I am on the same boat with a 66 Mustang. A client of mine opted to cut the shock towers and keep the same suspension. I have welded up some dirty dingo motor mounts and it fits fantastically. Except for the headers :(. I am looking at my options and I stumbled upon your thread; have you been able to properly get this setup in the vehicle and check clearances?

PS: You're my last hope before I tear an old suspension suspension and do a Mustang II conversion on it

Mate I've just (literally sitting in my garage typing this) test fit the Hooker LS Swap manifolds. Fits perfectly.

Note that I'm using a TCP rack and pulled out the original steering components.
