Where to get an LS1?

Where is the best and least expensive place to buy an LS1?

I see a lot of them on ebay (mostly the same shop out of PA).

Is 3800-4500 (with 6 speed) a decent price?

Should I look in a local bone yard?

What other items (install kit) etc. and cost?

Any help would be appreciated.

all i can suggest is to scan LS1tech.com possibly the other ls1 sites as well. dont forget places like craigslist.org. might be able to find one near by you that way depending on where you live. Ebay is not bad but you can do better. also dont forget to look at wrecked cars as a whole. others have bought whole cars, taken what they wanted, parted the rest, and made most if not all their money back that way.

I agree with Trey, LS1tech or other local sites are probably your best bet. Generally the junk yards and ebay will be over priced.
