SPAL Power Door Locks/Alarm - Manual Switch?

I have a SPAL (model # AS80V4.2) keyless door and alarm system that came with an alarm module, harness and door lock solenoids which I installed about 10 years ago. I'd like to add a manual lock/unlock switch to it so I don't have to use the keyless buttons inside the car, but the instructions are sketchy. It looks like it will accommodate a 6-pole switch, but I'm not sure which one to get. I'd like to get one with a similar style to this one (low profile is better):

Question: Will this type of switch work? Are there any general rules of thumb to wiring these things up?

The following diagram is in the manual, which lists 6 wires (for universal lock systems), but I doubt I'll be able to easily marry the two instructions to figure out the wiring.

First I would verify how the actuators are wired in the car and then compare that to the diagram you linked to in diagram 3 below of the SPAL manual.

I would then see if your new switch can throw power and ground when it should and when in the middle unused/unpressed state, see if it passes power and ground through it like how they show in diagram 4 and then if the planets align, wire it up per diagram 4.

Basically the outputs of the SPAL brain going to the door actuators rest at ground all the time but then when you want to unlock the doors, one of the two wires out of the SPAL brain outputs 12v while the other stays at ground and the actuator moves one direction.

Looking at the info on the switch, I doubt that one will work BUT one could wire it even another way with external relays (2) to then be able to use that switch.

Maybe look at wiring info on "The12v.com" site.

Thanks, Jim. I will look into that. I don't think I've ever heard of the12v.com. I'll take a gander.
