Opinions on Cam I am getting from Cam Motion for LS3 swap.
Hello fellow members.
I have been kicking around the idea for some time and I was all in for the 376/480 cam, but than decided to just order a cam from Cam Motion.
222/234 duration @.050" lobe lift on a 112 degree lobe separation + 4 degrees of overlap, 108 degree intake centerline and .553" valve lift. Spec'd by Steven at Cam Motion.
XA222/325-XA234/325-12+4
Based off the Titan 2 cam, with less lift. I do not want to change out valvetrain or make this a part of a maintenance schedule. Only a cam swap, new 3 bolt timing gear, LS2 timing dampner and Melling Oil Pump.
Anyone have a similar cam/setup that can provide some feedback?
Also I need to look for a tuner in Los Angeles area or get a mail order tune. If you know someone please send me their contact info. I am running a GMPP Connect and Cruise e67 ECU.
Setup:
1969 Camaro
LS3/t56 Magnum (Close Ratio). Ford 9" 3.70 gears
Stock intake, CAI from forum member Frankv, Speedtech/Stainless Works LS swap long tube headers for 1st gens Camaros, Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust, exists out back.
Looking for a bit more power than the stock 376/430 cam, but must maintain drivability.
Sitting in traffic for extended periods going to and from work in 90deg weather with AC on. So need it to be reliable and well mannered.
Do not care for top HP/TQ numbers, but I do want to feel it pull harder than the stock cam and in a very usable street driving range. I will likely not be shifting at 6K+ very often.
100% street car and I take my kids with me and do not want it to smell like I have my old small block chevy in the car, buck or overheat.
