I would say that any current system is capable of running it. From what I've seen the tuning software for all the systems is made to run on older laptops.
Check to see if the cable is USB or Serial. You will have a hard time finding serial ports on computers nowadays, and some of the USB-to-serial adapters are not completely compatible.
