      51 Ford pickup

This is a low budget build. I'll post some pics to bring this up to the current status.Name: DSC00275.jpg

I am starting to grow very fond of the F1's. I can't wait to see where you go with it.

This truck was 2 guys coyote chasing rig. The last known engine in it was a 52 Olds with a 4 speed. That was gone before I ever tried to buy it about 20 years ago. It's a story but the son of the owner decided that he would never do anything with it and decided I was the only dummy out there who could bring it back to life. Everytime something broke on it, they welded it to something else. I had to cut the front end apart to remove it. The cab looked pretty good until I media blasted it and then you could see through it in a few dozen places. I have a stack of tubing and a lot of boxes from No-Limit in the garage. I'm building a frame for it but it will be simple, not ground breaking. I bought a 96 Mustang GT for a donor car. It has to be disassembled before construction can begin. My current plan is to build the chassis, install all the running gear and put it together to drive. After that, it may get blown apart and painted. I haven't made it that far in planning yet. I'll try to post enough pics that it will be worth while to follow.

I have a 1950 F7 that I will be doing some work on in the future. I wish it had the bead and running boards though. Looks like a fun project!

I was building a '49 a few years ago that I had put TCI front and rear suspensions in... Never got to finish it. A guy bought it before I could. Wish I would have kept it but he paid what I asked...

More boring work today. I blasted the underneath side of the top and did more body work. I fought the waves on the top from one side to the other. It would be nice to have the skill to metal finish everything and have it be great. I don't possess that skill and don't see it happening soon. Name: DSC00735.jpg

Size: 166.2 KBToday I finished roughing in the body work on the cab. I don't have storage room so this has to go outside. I sprayed black epoxy primer over all the bare areas. The windshield and back glass have been edged in with color. Those of you that recognize the color know what's next. i made a decision about the plan for the truck. It's now the Bullitt truck. That color is the one used on the 2001 and 2008 Bullitts. I'll put gray spoke wheels on it and use that as the theme for this. Life got easier after that decision was made.

Size: 255.0 KBI took a day of vacation to remove parts from the donor car. This is 2/3's of the wiring harness I removed. I had to gut the car to do this.

I spent the day removing more parts from the donor car. If tomorrow is good, I'll have most of the parts removed. This car was untouched in some areas. Disassembly has been a test.

This pic represents completion of the important parts from the donor car. There is very few items left. This was a real pain to do. This project will get better in a heart beat.

The last large part of dissassembly. The lower arm bolts were froze. I'm glad this car is going to the junk yard when this is finished.

I removed the front suspension cradle and the hydro boost. There are no large parts left on the donor. I'm going to do some research to see if the hydro boost is the best approach for me.

That's the best use of an ugly (yet speedy) car! Keep up the good recycling habits!
