Mounting Intercooler Pump

Wanted some opinion on what orientation to mount the LSA intercooler pump on a 69 Camaro. It’s a stock zl1 pump. I want to mount it to the frame. Should I mount it on top of the frame (Pointing up like on the zl1) or sideways? Heres some pics

I have one on my Saturn Ion Redline. The shaft is horizontal as in the top photo. That's what I would do if it were me.

I plan on remounting mine under a ice tank hidden as if it was part of the tank.

Vertical inlet would probably work best, but as long as the reservoir is above the pump with no kinks in the line you should be good.

Mounting it with shaft vertical may lessen bearing life of the pump.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think mounting it like oem (vertically) is best that way the pump will always be full of fluid

Based on my experience, as long as the pump is mounted low relative to the intercooler and heat exchanger, it will remain full of coolant.

You will want to consider a coolant reservoir mounted higher than the heat exchanger and intercooler to allow the system to purge air. Air pockets can build up in the heat exchanger and cause reductions in efficiency.

I don’t plan on running a reservoir as the zl1 did not run one.

I can’t seem to find the bracket sold separately or a part number. Maybe contact a local dealer and they can order you one? I bought mine as a complete package with bracket, intercooler pump, hoses etc. from eBay. Like this listing:
