      Pro-Vintage RC Cars

While reading RC Car Action I stumbled across some new rc car bodies for 1/10th scale cars.

      http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htm

HPI is coming out with 1/10th scale Vintage Camaro, Hemi Cuda and Mustang bodies. They only have the Camaro on their website now. And they are also making the correct wheels and tires to go along with the bodies.

      How cool is this!

      Damn.

I've been out of the 1/10th RC game for 20+ years now - but those just might drag me back in (as if I needed another hobby).

Yes, I had an RC10 (not the 10i). I also had a Tamiya Rough Rider (which was like their first 1/10th scale - that thing was HEAVY and mostly made of pot metal, so it broke easily), a Frog, a Hornet, a Hotshot, and one other that I can't think of. The Hotshot was my favorite - Tamiya's first 4wd RC, and where the Rough Rider broke all the time, the Hotshot was near-indestructible.

Had a 1/12th RC-12 (zippy!) and almost finished building an RC250 (1/8th scale gas) before boot camp - all of my cars and remotes were in the attic of my dad's house, which was sold while I was in boot. Every once in a while I'll think about going and knocking on their door, but I imagine that since it was a big house the new owners had kids who likely tore up the cars already.

After looking around some more I found the Camaro and Mustang in the bodies section. I have to say the Mustang looks almost as good as the Camaro.

      The good ole days.......

      Tammy "Super Champ", RC12 and 12i, RC10 -i -T, RC 250, RC500, RC500 4x4 and the Silver Fox........

I ran/raced 1/8th scale on road for a number of years and eventually ended up building chassis for Repete Fusco (1988 IFMAR World Champ) Ron Perris, Mark Linder, Mark Mandenhall and Mike Scarpatti (now the founders/owners of LOSI and a few other supporting companies that make all the good carbon stuff).

My brother and I had a RC10 he drove it, I repaired it, we did a little racing back in the 80's, I found alot of bodys when I was at my Dad in GA last month, I think my brother sold the car, or it's in a box,

Do you think I could get away with this as a gift for my wife instead of the diamond ear rings she wants??? Need to go home and get the old RC Topcat out of the attic and start measuring.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I am going to order the bodies now and then save up for whatever car I choose.

the bodies fit good the camaro is a lil wide in the rear but i have allways ram the wide foam tires in the rear so this bodie fits good as long as you have a 200mm wheelbase they should fit hpi also has the offset rear wheels for the camaro
