Hence the PROBABLY. All I was saying is that it looks like it was built to race and the guy PROBABLY has a lot of track time under his belt since the story says he started racing exotics and only bought the car basically to prove it could be done. I agree that a bedtime story and a couple circus act pictures doesn't tell us jack about this car...good or bad. Realistically the article didnt have track time slips, but realistically we know he tracks it and I think its safe to say that 90% of the PT crowd hasn't even done that. And yes talk is cheap no matter what. Just trying to give the guy some credit because I know for a fact he'd whip my a$$.

I also agree that a lot of seat time in a sub-par(in comparison to aerodynamically advantaged and factory built race cars) car like this one vs. a bunch of Fabios driving exotics doesn't say a lot about the car (or driver for that matter) itself either.

Regardless this car's intention WAS to be purpose built even if it was not done right. It's just cool to see something without dubs and chrome lining everywhere like the most recent spectacle of vehicles popping up.

That's true. If the trend is moving towards ultra smooth "Mod Rods", we should not be picking apart cars like this.

Guys, don't get me wrong. I dig the car, and applaud the guy for building it AND taking the thing out and beating on it. HOOOWAAA!

My real gripe is with the mags that tout performance w/o proof and individuals that connect fast directly with parts.

If I had the coin to do so, I could "purpose build" a Porsche GT2, a Camaro or a spec Miata with all the latest and greatest goodies. However, if the setup is rubbish, or if I can't drive the thing well, then despite the fact that I spent cubic $$ on the car, it WONT be fast.

I've seen spec Miatas blow Vipers away in auto-x events and at Thunderhill in CA. Not because a Miata is a faster car, but because the Miata was set up better, the driver was better and the driver of the Miata was more willing to hang it out than that of the Viper.

If this Castellana cat has a bad-a$$ Porsche & a couple of Ferraris I have a feeling he is probably more willing to hang it out a bit in the tube chassis & caged Chevelle than he is in a Marenello (sp?). He is probably a lot more aggressive in the Chevelle than the guys in the Ferrari and Lambo he describes passing. Sure those are fast cars, but my point is, if Paul Gentillozi or Castellana for that matter was driving both with equal levels of abandon, which one would REALLY be faster? The only way to REALLY know, if to publish some lap times.

Steve, you are 100% right. I am not dogging the guy or the car. You and Zuuk know me well enough to know that I MUUUUUCH prefer a hardcore Streetfighter type to Pro-Goodguys, Pro-Visa, Pro-Show or Mod-Rod. My point is, if somone or a mag is gonna make a claim, they oughta back it up.

      True,
Looks like you've got a wicked ad-ware problem on your computer. Your reply is riddled with 3rd party links.

I know. I keep running different spyware programs and I'm not able to ferret it out.

Then your firewall must be letting them back in.

      Is that firewall smoothed out?

Travis, the neon story was made up, but I correctly figured it happens often.

True, I know your "down with the sickness".

And on that note I am off to jamaica for the weekend! Sweet! See you next week.
