Aftermarket subframes using C5/C6 suspension
Looking at subframes like AME for the 2nd gen Camaro with C5 suspension I noticed they don't use the corvette steering arm on the knuckle. Why is that exactly? Because the rack is higher or lower? Any why??

Because Corvette parts don't necessarily translate well to the much narrower track widths of older cars.

Main reasons are:
-Rack can be lower (Corvette engines are behind the rack)
-Ability to use a Mustang Fox style rack, which are cheaper, smaller in the U joint area, and easier adapted for the steering shaft & hose connections.
-Track width as Andrew said
-Might be other reasons, but that's what I've run into.

Thanks Dale! That was my guess on the rack height. How does it affect geometry compared to an OEM 'vette?
No change? Way better?

No idea what the effects are.. but I've used their arms and I have nothing bad to say about them!
