power guess
im not bench racing, well maybe a little. im going to swap my dart heads off the race car onto the el camino. theyre 200 cc runners, and 76cc chambers. stock 350 bottom end with a 30 overbore. hooker super comp 1 3/4 headers. rpm air gap manifold, 750 holley or edelbrock havent decided on that yet. with a decent but not outrageous roller cam, what do you think ill see power wise. i'd love to crack off high 11's but i dont think that will be possible with a streetable converter and 4.11 gear. right now the motor these heads are on is an absolute screamer, but its totally unstreetable with a 630 cam and 14 to one compression. desktop dyno said 530lb ft and somewhere around 500 horse, but that was a few years ago and ive since lost the program so i cant plug the "new" combo in. i realize with a 10 to one compression and a smaller cam, i obviously wont see those numbers, but where abouts do you guys think it will end up? 450? i'd love to do an lsx variant, but since dad is parting the race car out, i have a plethora of sbc parts available on the cheap and i really want to get this damn thing done by next november. also, another question, what advantages do the aftermarket roller lifters offer over a factory roller lifter? reason i ask is i know only like 3 companies make lifters in the country and everyone just puts theyre name on em. i can get a full set of factory rollers here at work pretty cheap. (my block is a 93 model and has the provisions for a factory roller setup) keep in mind im thinkin around 550 lift. sorry for the long post, just trying to make my points clear.
Tough guys may wear pink, but Bad Asses still wear black.
