      Star Wars DVDs

Can't wait! I have granted myself the day off and declared it a national day of nerdiness! See you all on Wednesday....

Just kidding....I'll probably be watching them on my computer while I try to get some work done.

Either way, to those Star Wars fans out there, be sure to check out the DVD's. I heard that the movies have been enhanced a great deal. Only problem is that purists might disapprove of the additional changes that were made for continuity reasons. I personally like the idea of making the original trilogy blend with the prequels a but better. Juist me though.

I've been waiting for this to come out for a while now. I don't really have time to pick them up tonight, but I will very soon. I've loved Star Wars since I first saw it when I was like 9, I have over 200 of the 3 3/4" figures. Man, it would be nice to get that money back, now. Oh well, Star Wars > all....Boba Fett > everyone else.

You know what is sad about this thread is that a lot of the guys on this site wasn't even a twinkle in their moma's eyes when the original STAR WARS came out. I was lucky enough to go see it at the drive in in the back of my dad's Vega wagon in my PJ's when I was 7!

call me a big ole dork, but I'm kinda annoyed that Lucas isn't putting the originals out. My ass he envisioned a digital Jabba back in the 70's :bsjerk: it should ahve been done like the Alien Quad set, the originals and the directors cuts, both are in the set. Guess I'll just stick to my VHS copies then huh?

Well, technically, Jabba was digital in the first release of the Special Edition movies ('97.) He was pretty crappy though as the FX team didn't have much to work with. At least this time around he looks more like he does in all the other movies. I think the quality is stellar too, though I can understand the purist's point of view in that the original shouldn't be changed, but I'm just a big fan of special effects.

I watched return last night. Is it me or did the whole movie seem to be a little brighter? I could see things in the shadows that I never saw before and the details were much clearer.
