body module and ignition switch

I have a 2008 silverado drivetrain that I want to put into an early truck. I plan on using the silverado gages, cruise control ABS etc, which i believe all need the body control module to operate, but the later model steering column and ignition has to go. Without the proper ignition switch i don't think the security system will be happy, is there a way to bypass or re program a body module, or any thoughts on how to get this done?
