      body module and ignition switch

I have a 2008 silverado drivetrain that I want to put into an early truck. I plan on using the silverado gages, cruise control ABS etc, which i believe all need the body control module to operate, but the later model steering column and ignition has to go. Without the proper ignition switch i don't think the security system will be happy, is there a way to bypass or re program a body module, or any thoughts on how to get this done?

      Thanks
      Mat

I don't know this for sure, but I don't think the ignition switch does anything with the BCM. You will have to program the ECU to delete VATS, but that is not hard.

      Thanks Andrew.
I actually got the newer column to fit which solves a lot of problems with wiring and shifter etc.

I think you're going to have bigger issues trying to get the abs to function. Your suspension will need to be modified to have and sensors . Then you need abs modual , steering input sensor, lateral g sensor thingy...blah blah blah it can be done don't get me wrong . Just a lot of work

Now, if he can get the old truck body to fit over the newer truck frame/wheels/axles, etc..., then all the drivetrain stuff (ABS/TCS, etc..) will still function.

True .....again tall order. There's some amazing brake kits out there that do allow for this swap it just crazy work . I've looked into it for my chevelle with ZR-1 brakes . I'm not wuite sure if the juice is worth the squeeze
