      Remove black powdercoat from intake

I have bought a Kinsler intake and I do believe its powder coated. Now I want to remove the paint and polish it to chrome finish.

How do I get rid of the powder coat?

I really dont want to hear that I must do it mechanically ;)

When I powdercoated we used a solvent called aerocarb to remove the powdercoating from the hooks used to hold the items we were coating. It softens the coating up and then we just rinsed it off.

      re

Just use a hand torch and heat the powdercoating until it starts to bubble a little. Then bead blast it off. Works great. Trond

This stuff is like a Carb Cleaner solution, and may be under a different name in your area.
