      Finally picked my drivetrain!! YAY!

      Hey guys,

as a few of you may know, I've been annoying you with bbc v ls v whatever posts for months..

well, i located a builder i trust, with lots of LS swaps under his belt.

Its a LS3 built, cammed out, forged piston and rods, and then a rebuilt LSA/eaton supercharger... he expects about 600 to the wheels.

then i have a magnum 6spd being built aswell,

I've already paid a deposit and started the engine work and bought the blower kit, car goes in thursday until march.

from today on, im going to boogie and find a nice rear end and AC and power locks/windows.

what do u guys recommend for gears for the 6spd, being a street car that i wanna be able to 1/4m here n there....

i was thinking short gears 1,2,3 and then stretch it out...

i will add pics as they come or begin more of a build thread..

      go team

Well, for the rear gears, you could go as low as 4.10 without a problem. The six speed has virtually 2 overdrive gears. You could do some fancy stop light to stop light action with the 4.10's but if you wanted to get out on the highway and cruise you could do that too. I myself, have 3.73 gears and I'm happy with mine.

Depends what gears you choose for the magnum and what diameter tires you run. I always shoot for about 2000-2200rpm in 6th gear at 75mph...
